Headmaster's Welcome
I am delighted to be invited to write an introduction to the RGS Parents’ Association web-site. Every school is a community of individual groups all co-existing for the benefit of that school. While the RGS, inevitably, has the boys at the heart of its community, an important element of any school is its parent body which, in the case of the RGS, is represented by the Parents’ Association. -

An active and thriving Parents’ Association is important in providing the opportunities for parents to meet each other and the staff of the School in a social context. It allows parents the opportunity to share information and resources, to provide support when required and to raise funds which are used to benefit the pupils at the School.
The RGS is an exceptional school and it is a real privilege for me to have been given the opportunity to lead the School into the next chapter of its history. No school must stand still and a notably successful one such as the Royal Grammar School should always be looking to innovate and to lead the way so that the boys in its care are suitably prepared to face a future of change and challenge. I have greatly enjoyed my interactions with the Parents’ Association since the start of my tenure at the RGS and I look forward to working with such a dedicated parent body so that, together, we can all play a part in shaping the RGS of the future. I thank the Parents’ Association for their outstanding commitment to the School in the past and I look forward to many exciting years of partnership in the future.
